Senator Dennis Dawson + the Political Panel

Alright, it’s time for another Herle Burly 2-part pod!

Part 1 of pod today, my guest is Deputy Leader of the Progressive Senate Group, Dennis Dawson. Dennis goes down in history as one of the youngest MPs ever elected in Canada, when he was just 27 years old. Later, he chaired the Quebec caucus and, later still, launched one of Canada’s leading government relations firms in Quebec City. We’re going to talk about Quebec politics today. How is it that Premier Legault can maintain such popularity during Covid when Kenney, Ford and Pallister’s numbers are cratering? We’ll chat whether the federal Liberals can find their majority in Quebec. And then, Bill C-10 and the role of the Senate.

Part 2 of the pod is our ever-lovin’, ever blaspheming Political Panel, with those members of “the meeting after the meeting”, Jenni Byrne and Scott Reid. We’ll pick up on the “Why is Minister Guibeault flailing so badly” conversation on Bill C-10. Also, Katie Telford made an appearance in front of the House of Commons Defence Committee; good or bad politics here? And finally, Doug Ford has launched a big-money ad campaign casting Trudeau as the boogie-man of border control. Can it possibly work for him? Plus, stick around so you can hear us throw our “HEY YOUs” out into the void.
